Roxanne Deevey takes pride in helping her clients think strategically. Before approaching communications from a tactical perspective – producing content for news releases, websites, posters and pamphlets, for example – she helps clients identify their objectives and looks at how communications can make them happen.
Having worked for 15 years as a Director of communications in the fields of education and health, Roxanne helps her clients engage audiences by targeting what needs to be said to whom in order to effect change.
As a former journalist with Radio-Canada (radio and television), as well as TFO/TV Ontario, she is experienced in making complex issues easy to understand. She is particularly skilled at coaching and preparing clients for media interviews.
Roxanne is an accredited business communicator (ABC) with the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). She is a graduate of Carleton University’s Master of Journalism program and Concordia University’s Graduate Diploma program in Communication Studies.
Roxanne thrives when she can read, write, work and play in French or in English (preferably both). In her spare time, she enjoys early morning rows on the Ottawa river, distance swimming, and cross-country skiing. Her current personal objectives include learning to swim butterfly gracefully, and finishing the hike, or camino, to Santiago de Compostela, Spain (300 km down, 700 to go!).
